Advanced Hardware

Based on the same complex hardware platform developed for XMC-1 and RMC-1, it partners dynamic new processor technology with meticulous analogue circuit design for best possible audio reproduction. Emotiva's patented OS drives the menu system and sophisticated control logic. XMC-2 shares the 4k HDR and Dolby Vision UHD video switching capabilities of the RMC-1 along with full sixteen-channel decoding and processing of superb Dolby Atmos and DTS:X audio.

AKM DAC chips

XMC-2 uses AKM AK4490 DAC chips providing sixteen channels of fully balanced audio output. This fully differential stereo DAC chip delivers an ultra high-quality mono mode for the front three channel DACs while the remaining channels operate in the normal stereo differential mode.

OLED Displays

XMC-2 uses a high quality graphical OLED display and is operated by conventional control buttons. It does not have the three rear panel expansion slots offered by the RMC-1 and uses standard RCA jacks in place of the audiophile grade panel-mounted RCA connectors. If you want cutting edge AV performance in a surround sound processor that performs equally well in an audiophile quality sound system, all on a limited budget, then the XMC-2 is perfect for you.

Flexible Options

XMC-2 supports an extensive variety of audio sources including HDMI audio, analog audio, AM and FM radio, digital S/PDIF and USB PCM audio, as well as single and double-rate DSD digital audio. Autonomous audio input selection is available for each video input as well as a second audio zone with separate DACs and source selection. This can track Main Zone or be set to use separate digital or analogue audio input. It supports up to three individual subwoofers with independent level, distance, room correction, and EQ settings for each.

Versatile Control

Control is possible via a full-sized machined aluminum infrared remote control with discrete buttons for HDMI input selection, trim adjustments and other key functions. Remote control apps are available for Apple and Windows computers and Android phones. Four flexible Trigger Outputs can be independently configured to activate amplifiers or other trigger-enabled equipment.
