The importance of high quality power supply connections is now widely accepted. Many enthusiasts install dedicated power lines for their hi fi systems and no longer question the importance of the quality of the receptacle fitted to the wall. Conventional "hospital grade" connectors can improve the strength of the mechanical connection, but they are far from ideal for realizing the best sound quality.

The objective was to develop receptacles whose sole purpose was to deliver the highest audiophile sound quality possible. Every part has been designed with this in mind. Extensive research into the effects of plating methods has yielded three equally valid but different types of sound for you to choose from. The entire series is non-magnetic to avoid any disturbance from magnetic fields.

Base Material: Highly (twice) polished deoxidized phosphor bronze for the most secure contact (20 amps).

For the body, 30% glass filled PBT (Polybutylene terephthalate) is employed for its excellent machining characteristic and electrical isolation property. Due to the highly rigid and high-specific material, we achieved to reduce the development of unnecessary vibration and distortion.

Oyaide did exhaustive research not only into which plating materials would be optimal, but also into which combinations and what thickness would yield the best result. Typical plating methods do not meet the laboratory grade standard necessary to achieve the best contact. All Oyaide products are plated using the highly precise hard contact plating method, which must be performed in their state of the art facility. The use of nickel, which degrades the sound, is avoided.

The structure of SWO-ULTIMO series is so simply designed. The mounting frame is made of 1.5mm thick brass, has superior mechanical integrity, and protects from unnecessary vibration from wall surfaces. Moreover, it is a non-magnetic substance which doesn't exert a bad influence on the sound quality. All screws are made of stainless steel which are also non-magnetic substances. Due to high rigidity, there is no problem such as screw head rounded off. The maximum cable size is 5.5sq. In thorough testing, the cable has never separated from the plug by a force less than 30kg.

Silver/Rhodium – Pure, strong, solid, uncolored reproduction – providing a very extended sound field.
Direct Gold - bold, sweet, luxurious, dynamic and lucid character
Gold/Palladium – the character of Gold with an added vibrancy and a cooler, fresher feeling
